A Professional Diploma in Supervision across Professions – A Holistic Approach, at ICPPD.

“‘What is supervision?’ … Rather than ask what supervision is, perhaps we should ask: how do we build on what supervision has been, to provide trainees, professionals and professions with what they need to do their jobs better.” – Professor Michael Carroll

ICPPD endorses and appreciates supervision as a profession. This programme supports supervision as facilitation of learning which includes the knowledge, competence and skills required for the management of the supervisory context, environment and relationship and also the ongoing ethical requirement of self- care and the ultimate responsibility to good practice and a quality service for clients.

This quality Diploma is intended for experienced professionals from a variety of disciplines, in particular: counsellors, psychotherapists, educators, guidance counsellors, psychologists, managers, Gardaí, prison officers, complementary therapists, community workers, healthcare and other helping professionals and all who supervise the work of others in the helping professions or are preparing to supervise same.

The aim of the Diploma in Advanced Supervision across Professions – A Holistic Approach is to empower participants to become competent as supervisors, including group and organisational supervisors and facilitators of learning.

This programme is unique in its offering with International Guest Lecturers – Robin Shohet and Dr Bobby Moore.
The Diploma in Advanced Supervision across Professions – A Holistic Approach is delivered over 15 days throughout the academic year.

“We are moving into a new era of supervision characterised by a capacity for cross-professional practice based on philosophies of learning rather than professional practices.”– Dr Bobby Moore
