What Our Learners Say
Who better to tell you about the college than the learners themselves.
Martina Murphy

“Not only was the course an excellent introduction to the theory and practice of Psychosynthesis, it was a personal growth experience. The exercises, although subtle, were profoundly stirring on an emotional level and opened doors into dormant areas of thought and feeling. “

“It has been a wonderful experience, ICPPD provided a space to deepen, explore and develop from the core training. The modules integrate both experiential and academic learning, linking the theory to the lived experience beautifully. The tutors all bring their own style of teaching and each module encourages creativity in how we learn, meeting the different needs in the group. My learning has been rich with the environment encouraging and welcoming diversity, experience and perspectives. Personally and professionally I will leave this year in gratitude and abundance; friends, learning, connection, creativity.”
Mitzie Murphy

“Throughout the 6 weekends I always felt the work I did came from me, and in no way was dictated or directed by the facilitator. I was guided and supported by them and that was really important to me. As a result, my art, and that of all the other 9 participants, was original, authentic and was always respected. Over the following weekends we painted, sculpted, moved, danced, wrote, cried, laughed, let all our sounds out, and great discussions took place and work was done, as trust was built in the group. This was not just a verbal form of expression, or a discussion of what the theory of expressive arts is about, no, it was an experience of getting down and doing the work ourselves; it was a way of showing us up-close how to bring this to our clients. After each piece of work the group came together and each person shared what the picture or piece that they had completed meant to them”

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the Advanced Diploma for Supervision Across the Professions. I was attracted to the course because of the numerous recommendations it had received from previous attendees and because of the holistic approach. The size of the group allowed the space and time for the experiential aspect of the course to be delivered and I experienced it as a place for deep learning. The course tutor (Anne Marie) was excellent. She facilitated a safe space for learning at a pace that was really conducive to me getting the most from the experience. I feel it has been a very valuable and worthwhile experience and I would encourage those seeking supervision training to enrol. “

“Thank you so much for creating such a precious place where we are not seen as learners rather as all being learners coming to know ourselves through such a powerful prism of wisdom and learning modelled by you and all the amazing members who co create such sacred space.”

“I recently completed the Introductory Holistic counselling and psychotherapy course. I found it to be the most rewarding course that I have ever completed. The personal development module is life-changing and so valuable to each individual. I think it has been the best gift that I have ever given myself. The counselling skills module was so empowering and Educational and has thought me more awareness. The psychology Theory was so interesting that it leaves me wanting to explore more. The tutors were all so welcoming and had wonderful delivery of the course. I looked forward to every session and was quite sad when the course came to the end. I highly recommend this course. Give yourself the gift of ‘time for you’. You won’t be disappointed.”

“This course on Personal Development encouraged me to strip my mind back to the truths of my life and begin to try understand and question with greater awareness my beliefs and behaviours. I thought of the classroom as a place of great vulnerability but then you realise every person is there to personally develop in some way and that thought alone cements a bond between strangers that is very powerful and creates a space to release – in my case – suppressed feelings and resentments without any judgement or criticism but with an appreciation and a respect for the individual. The theory and concepts were provided in an easy to understand way and delivered by Paula who is a very competent tutor. She made me feel at ease from class 1 and that gave me the confidence to do what I was there to do. I would like to express my gratitude to ICPPD for running such a great course and continued success until we meet again.”

“For me, this course has been a journey of discovery and rediscovery. What made me join this retreat was a longing for nature – for spending more time outside, the way I did when I was a child, and for developing more intimacy with the natural world, here, in the place where I live. The course has certainly helped me to do that, through a range of simple and beautiful practices. But I have also got to know a number of writers, activists and thinkers whose ideas I will explore in the long winter months that lie ahead: Satish Kumar, Thomas Berry, Margaret Fuller, John Moriarty, Mark Tredinnick… I did this course in autumn, but I plan to go through the entire course again in spring. For while this is a 4-week retreat, there is material here for a lifetime.”

“I have to say that the personal development course Coming Home to Self did wonders for me. It challenged my old ways of thinking and has made me self-aware to what I want. It also taught me to be happy as I am and what I believe in. It made me realise that decisions I make are important and getting on with people which will lead to making new and better friends and that everything falls into place when you look after yourself emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. I’m happy to not aim for perfection and to be comfortable with myself and others. I found the YouTube clips great help about owning your behaviours, identifying behaviours and also the importance of what you say and your reaction to people so that you can reach an understanding and a harmonious outcome to situations. It was a great journey and will be a valuable source to look back on.”

“First of all I would like to say a big thank you for your time. I really enjoyed the course. I am beyond happy with everything. You have put a lot of effort in it. I have been practicing mindfulness for a while and always find it beneficial. And the course helped me even more. Every day practice of mindfulness helped to rejuvenate myself. I learnt to appreciate my life even more, and I learnt to be in love with my own self. As I learnt to live in the present moment, so I become more concerned about my current actions rather than my future plans. And that helped me in finding those activities which make me happy at that moment. I used mindfulness at work and rather than getting stressed over little things, I started to control it and look at situation different, If I cannot change something I just let it go and look at the situation from different prospective. After practicing mindfulness, I felt refreshed by the knowledge and feeling of gratitude. I easily respond to negative emotions without being conscious. My gratitude to you for all you have done, which I will never forget. I truly appreciate you and your time you spent on this course. Thank you very much.”

“What a sensational course this has been. A great introduction to online courses for me and some serious learnings, growth and development from it, thank you. Thank you for your wonderful support regarding feedback to my tasks and your kind words towards me as a person, they really impacted me on a wholesome level, especially the fact you have never actually met me and got the perception of me you did from my personal work alone. It has given me great confidence in my character and my ability to express myself.”
